Perfect, 5*

I started care with my breathing. I have nasal septum deviation. This breath tape is amazing, again I can breathe normally, very comfy, I can't feel the tape, when I'm wearing. If I knew earlier then I'm sleeping every night with it. The sleep mist has brilliant smell also. I recommend to everyone who wants sleep peaceful. The delivery was fast, so everything is perfect. I will order again.

Great For My Deviated Septum/Broken Nose

So I was a bit skeptical as there are so many tapes out there, and wanted to breathe easier at night to avoid waking up multiple times due to lack of airflow...I think this tape is great, and works perfect. It can be uncomfortable if wearing for longer than 12 hours, but it does say on the packet to not go over 12 hours. My only one issue is I like to wear it in the day sometimes and find the black colour of it distracting at the end of my nose. I wish that there was a beige colour for me as a white dude, just like how there is for longevity sleep mouth tape. Then the product would be perfect for me!

Amazing for breathing and deviated septum

Just wished they did it in a clear colour as I were this out and just have to tell everyone I’ve broken my nose! Bring on the clear tape, it’s ridiculous how much better I can breathe with this on.

FAQ's

Here's Everything You Need to Know.

what is the science behind it?

Here's a breakdown of the science behind mouth taping:

  1. Nasal Breathing vs. Mouth Breathing: Nasal breathing has several advantages over mouth breathing. The nose acts as a filtration system, humidifying and warming the air as it enters the body. It also produces nitric oxide, which helps dilate blood vessels and improve oxygen uptake in the lungs. Mouth breathing bypasses these benefits and can contribute to issues like snoring, dry mouth, and disrupted sleep.
  2. Sleep Apnea and Snoring: Mouth taping is often promoted as a method to reduce snoring and symptoms of sleep apnea. By encouraging nasal breathing, it can help keep the airway open and reduce the likelihood of obstructions that cause snoring or apnea episodes.
  3. Improving Oxygenation: Proponents of mouth taping argue that it can improve oxygenation by promoting more efficient breathing patterns. They suggest that nasal breathing allows for deeper, more diaphragmatic breathing, which can enhance oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide elimination.
  4. Facilitation of Parasympathetic Nervous System: Nasal breathing is associated with the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and restorative functions in the body. By encouraging nasal breathing during sleep, mouth taping may help facilitate a more restful state.
  5. Enhanced Sleep Quality: Some individuals report improved sleep quality when using mouth taping, citing deeper sleep, fewer awakenings, and feeling more refreshed upon waking. This may be attributed to the combined effects of improved breathing patterns and enhanced parasympathetic activation.
Will Sleep Tape Stop my snoring?

Clinical trial data has shown that mouth taping can reduce snoring by promoting nasal breathing during sleep. Snoring often occurs due to airway obstruction, which can be exacerbated by mouth breathing. By keeping the mouth closed during sleep, mouth taping encourages individuals to breathe through their noses, which may help keep the airway open and reduce snoring. However, the effectiveness of mouth taping can vary depending on individual factors such as the underlying cause of snoring and the severity of the condition. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate treatment options for snoring.

Its not sticking what can I do?

We advise that you thoroughly cleanse your face prior to applying Sleep Tape to remove any oils. When applying the tape it is best to rub your hand over the tape, applying friction to heat up the adhesive and allow it to bind properly to your skin. Read our tips down below on how to remove Sleep Tape!

What happens if my nose is blocked?

Firstly if your nose is blocked you shouldn't be using Sleep Tape. Please wait until you feel like you are able to breathe freely through your nose. If your nose becomes blocked during the night then don't worry, your body has its own emergency switch that will wake you up if you are not getting enough oxygen.

Is mouth taping safe?

When done correctly and under appropriate circumstances, mouth taping is generally considered safe for individuals without underlying health conditions that would contraindicate it. However, it's essential to use caution and follow proper guidelines to ensure safety.

Here are some considerations for the safe use of mouth taping:

  1. Breathing Function: Ensure that you can breathe comfortably through your nose before applying mouth tape. Individuals with nasal congestion, allergies, or other breathing issues should avoid mouth taping or consult a healthcare professional before attempting it.
  2. Mouth Opening: Use tape that allows for easy mouth opening in case nasal breathing becomes obstructed. This ensures that you can breathe through your mouth if necessary, reducing the risk of suffocation.
  3. Skin Sensitivity: Be mindful of skin sensitivity and potential allergic reactions to the adhesive in the tape. Test a small area of skin before applying the tape to your mouth, and discontinue use if you experience any irritation or discomfort.
  4. Monitoring: Pay attention to how your body responds to mouth taping, especially during the initial stages of trying it. If you experience significant discomfort, anxiety, or difficulty breathing, remove the tape immediately and discontinue its use.
  5. Underlying Conditions: Individuals with certain health conditions such as sleep apnea, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) should consult a healthcare professional before attempting mouth taping, as it may not be suitable or safe for them.
  6. Children and Elderly: Mouth taping is not recommended for young children or elderly individuals, as they may have difficulty removing the tape if needed, leading to potential safety concerns.

Overall, while mouth taping can be safe for some individuals when used appropriately, it's essential to consider individual health factors and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or underlying medical conditions.

Does it hurt to take it off?

It can be slightly uncomfortable to remove, but not painful. We advise for people to apply Vaseline to your lips prior to applying the tape. You can also take it off with warm water in the shower.

Will it help with my dry mouth ?

Absolutely! Dry mouth, also known as xerostomia, can result from various factors such as dehydration, mouth breathing during sleep, certain medications, or medical conditions.

Here's how mouth taping could potentially help with dry mouth:

  1. Preventing Mouth Breathing: If dry mouth is exacerbated by mouth breathing during sleep, using mouth tape may encourage nasal breathing instead, helping to maintain moisture in the mouth. Nasal breathing humidifies and warms the air before it enters the lungs, reducing the likelihood of dryness.
  2. Promoting Saliva Production: Nasal breathing is associated with the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which can stimulate saliva production. By encouraging nasal breathing, mouth taping may indirectly promote saliva flow, helping to alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
Can sleep tape be used with a CPAP machine?

While sleep tape can be used alongside CPAP therapy, we advise consulting with a healthcare professional to ensure compatibility and optimal usage. It may complement CPAP treatment by promoting nasal breathing and reducing mouth leaks.
